2016 McLaren 675LT Limited edition
More power, lighter and faster: The new McLaren 675LT evokes the great "long tail" - heir to the British supercar - brand new life. For this purpose, the British changed from one-third of all parts against the McLaren 650S and missed the engine more than 50 percent new components. The performance resulting therefrom, are breathtaking. Limited is the edition: McLaren will produce only 500 copies. Delivery will take place from July 2015.

Captivating: The acceleration is increasing rapidly in the McLaren 675LT
It was the year 1997 in the length stretched, stronger, yet lighter McLaren F1 GTR Longtail five of eleven races in the FIA GT Championship won for production-based sports cars and the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans double victory in the GT1 Class scored. But the victory at Le Mans also showed the superiority: The McLaren sports cars were in the overall ranking on the positions 2 and 3 and were doing the fast sports car prototype far behind. From the Mclaren F1 GTR several copies were roadworthy converted and approved.
It goes without saying that the new, available only as a coupe McLaren 675LT is the strongest focused on the race track model in the "McLaren Super Series" and has a street legal. The 3.8-liter V8 biturbo the makers changed more than 50 percent of the components to ensure even more power, torque and drivability. Improvements include new, more efficient turbocharger, detailed changes in the cylinder heads and exhaust manifold, new camshafts and lightweight connecting rods and a size larger fuel pump and injection system.
Produces the motor unit, such as the model name suggests, a power output of 675PS, which lie at 7,100 rev / min. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is available from 5500 to 6500 tours. Thats not all: The McLaren 675LT 100 kilograms lighter compared to other models in the Super Series - a silent nod to the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail in 1997, which also achieved a weight reduction of 100 kilograms. The result: The McLaren 675LT has a dry weight of only 1230 kg, resulting in an impressive power to weight ratio of 1.8 kg / hp results.
These power and reduced weight make for riveting performance: The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h takes just 2.9 seconds, while the controlled torque output allows optimum traction from the start. The acceleration is increasing rapidly, the 200 km / h mark is broken after just 7.9 seconds and ends at a top speed of 330km / h. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 7-speed SSG transmission.
The key to success: Light weight and aerodynamics
The weight savings achieved McLaren through extensive use of carbon in the body parts, along with a lighter engine and chassis. For the purpose of weight reduction, the makers away even the air conditioning, which is available as a cost option, however.

Below the redesigned front bumper sits a distinctive carbon fiber front spoiler, which directs the air along the new fender ends more to increase downforce on the front of the vehicle. The turbulent air currents of the front wheel arches are neutralized and continue to flow backwards through the carbon side fins, leading over the entire length of the lower body. A discreet air inlet forward of the front edge of the rear wheel housing, below the cooling holes larger behind the door, the cold air also leads to the side of the engine compartment mounted coolers.
The aerodynamic balance optimizes active "long tail" - Airbrake, which was enlarged as in the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail - 50 percent larger than the other models in the "Super Series". The reprofiled design complements the lines of the new carbon-fiber rear wing. Two round-shaped exhaust pipes made of titanium contact center, produced under the rear wing of the body. In addition to a more complex design that is customized crossover exhaust gas system was designed to optimize performance and to achieve a weight reduction of 1.1 kilograms.
The rear deck and the flanking parts of the exhaust pipes left exposed to derive the hot air from the engine compartment as efficiently as possible while rear windows have lightweight plexiglass on other vents. A carbon fiber rear bumper with fins reduces the air pressure over the rear wheels, while a striking carbon - diffuser completes the rear design.
Compared to the 650S McLaren, McLaren 675LT grew by 3.4 centimeters to 4,546 meters in length. The width is 2,095 meters (plus 2 inches) and the height of 1,188 meters (-1.1 cm).
The interior of the McLaren 675LT shows racetrack potential
The McLaren 675LT is available in four custom-made, never offered colors: "Silica White" (White), "Delta Red" (Red), "Napier Green" (green) and "Chicane Grey" (gray) are the newly drawn shades for the McLaren 675LT. The legendary McLaren Orange "completes the series that are exclusive to this model.

Inside the McLaren 675LT which focuses on the riders equipment is a further indication of the racetrack potential. Two ultra-light carbon bucket seats, standard upholstered with Alcantara and those of the McLaren P1 modeled, providing comfort and support without compromising the overall weight.
An unobtrusive "675LT" logo found on the headrests of the seats and the tachometer. Unlike the other models in the "Super Series" integrated the makers of the controls for the optional air conditioning in the touchscreen infotainment system.
